Amakozi Stadium, Mogale City, Gauteng

The Amakhosi Stadium development is a private initiative led and funded by Lefika Emerging Equity Holdings and the Kaizer Chiefs Football Club.  The proposed Amakhosi Stadium would be built on the current site of the Bob van Reenen sports stadium and Johan Jonker Stadium that has always been used as sports recreational facility.  The existing Bob van Reenen Stadium in Mogale City would be demolished and replaced by the new Amakhosi Stadium, a world-Class 2010 multi-purpose football stadium.  Computer modelling techniques and site work were the main factors used to determine the potential visual impact of the proposed new stadium.  One of the maid concerns of the public was the potential for additional light impact at night.  The computer modelling confirmed that in fact, the new stadium would decrease significantly the impact of spot lights at night.
