Cutty Sark Hotel,  Scottsborough, KZN

The current Cutty Sark Hotel comprises of a three storey block located on the northern section of the property, adjacent the beach. The applicant is proposing to demolish the existing structures on the Cutty Sark Hotel site in Scottburgh and construct residential units. The Visual Impact Assessment Draft, considered the potential impact of the building on views from surrounding residential properties as well as its shadow effects on the beach.  A number of variations on the building (i.e. configuration as well as height) were tested and analyzed in terms of its viewshed and computer models were used to illustrate these.
